The Cherry Tree


Cherry (a.k.a prunus subgenera cerasus) is a sub-type of prunus,a type which includes the almond , peach and apricot.

two species of cherry are especially known for the good , sweet fruit that they bear: sweet cherry (prunus avium) and sour cherry (prunus cerasus) these species are large trees that may reach heights of 18 meters, however in commercial
cultivation the tree's height is limited to 4 meters. there exist a couple of more sub species of cherry some that bear edible fruit such as the japanese cherry.

cherry trees common in asia, europe and north america , while the countries who are considered greatest in the cultivation of these fruit are iran,turkey and the usa. for the two known species there are various breeds , but they both need cold climate of about 1000 hours cold , and they are both pollinated by bees. one of the types
requires more trees in its vincinity in order to bear fruit.
